~FAQ's~

What is your elevation? The 777 Ranch sits at about 6,000 ft. The mountains to the west of us where we do some activities rise to over 11,000 ft.

What is the weather like? We do get some snow in the winter, but the ranch is always accessible. Our summers are mild with possible highs in the 90's periodically, and we might get a rain shower or two during a week of camp. A light jacket is suggested for the evenings. Because of our high elevation, people tend to burn easily. Sunscreen and a hat are suggested for our summer programs.

How big is the ranch? The home place with the buildings and farm land is 260 acres. We also have the use of a 276 acre farm that comes with thousands of acres of BLM and Forest Service leases for around 400 cattle.

How far is it to the nearest Walmart? It is 45 miles one way.

Are there any airports nearby? The Salt Lake Airport and the Grand Junction Airport are both about 3 hours away. There may be additional charges for pick-up and drop-off. Email us to find out the current fee.

How many people can you accomodate? It depends on the type of camp. Refer to the facilities page for more details.

Are there snakes? Around the ranch you might see a gopher snake or two and in the spring there are little water snakes in the creek. We have rarely seen rattlesnakes in the mountains or on the desert.

What kind of food do you serve? Our home-cooked meals are served family-style most of the time. Though we don't cater to special diets, you will find something to enjoy at every meal. In fact, most campers rave about the food. (For special dietary restrictions, please contact us.)

Do I need spending money? The camper fee includes all activities and room and board. If you would like extra snacks or a souvenir(t-shirts, caps, sweatshirts), you can find them at our Snack Shack, which is usually opened once or twice a day. We are unable to accept credit cards at this time. We are able to accept checks and cash.

Is there a place to do laundry? It is best to bring what you need for the week. However, if an emergency arises or if you are staying for an extended period of time, there are a limited number of facilities at the ranch.

How do I know what to bring? If you are coming to a camp for youth, the items are listed on the brochure. If you are coming for an adult camp, bring appropriate attire for being on a ranch and personal care items. Sunscreen, hat, and bug spray are also recommended. (For adult camps, usually bedding and linens are provided.)
